Great Lakes Geoscience consultants are very qualified to supervise your field operations for borehole drilling and geophysical aquisition. Our services include supervision of coring, casing, cementing, plugging and borehole geophysical logging operations. As being “Qualified Examiners”, we are authorized on behalf of the MNRF to inspect drilling, casing, cementing, plugging and site restoration of your technical boreholes. Our team is also very experienced in interpreting geophysical borehole logs.
Great Lakes Geoscience consultants have 44 years of wellsite geological supervision, which has evolved considerably in recent years. In addition to analyzing the rock well-cuttings and cores cut during drilling operations and preparing detailed strip logs, our consultants are trained in integrating real time geophysical logs while drilling, known as logging while drilling (LWD), Pason drilling rig functions such as rate if penetration (ROP) and gas readings and very advanced software systems for horizontal drilling. The horizontal drilling systems such as “StarSteer” assist in guiding the drill bit and ensure that the wellbore stays in the optimum location (sweet spot) and follows the structure of the oil pay section. This horizontal drilling system integrates both geophysical and geological structure data. Great Lakes is a licenced user of Geostrip and experienced in the use of Wellsite Systems Striplog for the preparation of digital strip logs for well cuttings and rock core.
